Neil Foster is a composer, pianist and multi-instrumentalist based in Northern Ireland. As a performer and session musician he has worked with some of the leading orchestras and ensembles around the UK and Europe, and has contributed percussion and vocals to films such as ‘Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers’ and ‘Kingdom of Heaven’.

In 2018 Neil released ‘Hiraeth’, his first album of experimental ambient, piano based compositions, which was followed by a second album ‘Stormlight’ in 2021. His releases have been featured on BBC Radio 3, BBC 6 Music, Radio Ulster and BBC Sounds, and since signing two albums of experimental ambient work to publishing label ‘The Nerve’, in 2024, Neil’s music has been placed in documentaries on ITV and BBC TV.

Neil’s composer credits and collaborations include short film, animation and dance, and he was shortlisted for the Production Music Awards ‘Composer Spotlight’ prize in 2025.
